Outreach Journeys
Going on an outreach journey is quite often a deeply spiritual experience. You are removed from the daily demands of your life and routine. You enter into circumstances that heighten your dependence on God and push your faith beyond its typical boundaries. You are challenged to serve others in ways you never have before. Spiritual preparation prior to going will expand your capacity to "see" new things that God wants to show you.
You going on a mission journey touches many people. It begins by touching your family and friends. You will be developing a group of people who will commit to praying for you while you are gone. There will be numerous times when you will find great comfort and strength in the thought that others are praying for you. Their praying for you will also have an impact on them. Also touched, are the people whom you will go to serve. They know there are many other places you could go that would be much nicer. Just your presence there is "heard" as a huge statement about how much you value them.
God uses all these things and more to work deeply in our lives when we respond and follow His call to go.
